Care home set for £1million makeover

Residents and the care team at family-run Bowood Court & Mews care home in Redditch are looking forward to a full refurbishment of their home, both inside and out in 2017.

Bowood Court & Mews, on Hewell Road, will be converted into separate small suites of between 13 and 19 beds.  Each suite will have its own lounge, dining facilities and care team ensuring that residents are looked after by the same familiar faces every day.  The suites will have their own lifestyle kitchen so that residents and their loved ones can enjoy baking or preparing light snacks.

Bowood’s owners, Adept Care Homes, will be extending lounges which will include balcony terraces on the 1st floor so that residents can enjoy warm summer days.  Residents will even be able to have a tipple in their own pub which will have an outdoor courtyard.

Our green-fingered residents will be able to join the gardening club and enjoy the new raised beds and greenhouses whilst listening to the birds in the aviaries.  Residents will also be able to have a pamper in the new hair salons.

Work will continue throughout 2017, but has already started with new doors, fittings and bedroom carpets.  Home Manager, Pauline Vernon, said, “We are very excited about this refurbishment.  We have carefully planned every detail to ensure that residents’ lives are not disrupted and they can continue to enjoy a happy, fulfilled and enriched life.”
