Kiwi House is safely introducing new residents into life at the care home.
The family-run home in Alvaston, Derby is welcoming new residents as the home sees a glimmer of normality following the global pandemic. Meet Anne Hall, one of the newest residents at Kiwi House.
“I made the choice to live at Kiwi House as I was finding it increasingly difficult to manage at home alone but since moving in I have made some wonderful new friends. I spend most of my time in the beautifully landscaped gardens, watering the plants and tending to the vegetable that we grow as part of the gardening club.
I am so happy here at Kiwi House, I am encouraged to do the things I love, and I am surrounded by other wonderful people. If there is one thing I have learnt since joining Kiwi House is, You’re never to old to try something new ” – said Anne, Kiwi House.
Kiwi House, part of Adept Care Homes pioneered the family visiting scheme. The garden visiting was designed alongside government guidance to see residents safely reunited with their family members once again.
“It’s lovely to see so many new faces joining us here at Kiwi House. Anne is full of life and so enthusiastic to be a part of the activities program and enjoys the company of all the other residents. It’s nice to see how well she has settled in. We remain vigilant. Our robust infection controls and daily health monitoring continue to help protect our precious residents.” Maria Hallam, Home Manager.
