Moat House Care Home Residents Travel in Style to Witness Local Christmas Light Switch On.

Residents at Moat House Care Home in Burbage toured the local town of Hinckley in a luxurious Limousine to witness the ‘Big Christmas Light Switch On’ at the Hinckley and Bosworth Christmas Light Trail.

The residents of Moat House Knit’n’Natter Club were collected up by their private, chauffer driven Limousine, provided by local business, G.Sellers as a thank you for their efforts in knitting over 200 poppies for the G.Seller Remembrance Day window display in November.

Since the beginning of 2022, the knit and natter club have meet weekly to knit for many local community groups as well as the much-loved Burbage Yarn Bomb event.

“Thank you so much to each and every one of the residents that has knitted these wonderful poppies” said a representative from G.Seller Funeral Directors of Hinckley.

“What a wonderful evening we had, I felt like a celebrity driving around in that fancy car. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole ride round, we all did,” said Marilyn Mewies (86), a member of the Knit and Natter Club at Moat House.

“Our residents are so proud to support and be a part of their local community. It’s events like these which really show all the hard work they put in all year round. Thank you to the team at G.Seller for giving our residents this lovely evening and sharing the magic of Christmas with them” said Hayley Langley, Manager at Moat House Care Home.
