Bowood Court in Redditch proudly takes the spotlight as the ‘Master of the Mince Pie’ in a fierce company-wide competition, triumphing over former winners Moat House Care Home in Burbage.
In this festive tradition, residents from the seven Adept care homes were tasked with sharing and discussing their favourite pastime recipes for their classic mince pie. Residents vote on what elements make a mince pie truly delectable. The chef teams help the residents at each home to meticulously crafted their own perfected versions, presenting them to a panel of judges at the eagerly anticipated annual mince pie-making competition.
Bowood Court’s mince pie emerged victorious, scoring exceptionally high on crucial criteria including pastry, filling, taste, and presentation. The residents, along with their talented chef team, showcased not only their culinary expertise but also the spirit of collaboration and community that defines the holiday season.
The competition has become a cherished annual event, bringing residents and team together to celebrate the joy of the festive season through the art of pastry, baking and traditions.
Kerry Hant, Care Manager at Bowood Court expressed everyone’s excitement, saying, “Our residents and chef team have poured their passion and creativity into perfecting the art of the mince pie this year. It’s an honour to bring the title to Bowood Court this year, and we are thrilled to share this joyful accomplishment with our residents, their relatives and the entire community. We will certainly be making more in our Baking Club for everyone to enjoy over the holidays at Bowood Court”
