In a heart-warming display of community spirit and fulfilment, Paul Richardson, a cherished resident at Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, had his long-cherished wish fulfilled through the home’s Make a Wish program. On Saturday, February 17th, 2024, Paul experienced the thrill of attending a live football match, watching his beloved Nottingham Forest face off against West Ham United.

Paul, an 83-year-old former reporter for the Notts Evening Post and a dedicated Nottingham Forest supporter, had expressed his desire to attend one last live football match as part of Harrier House’s initiative to grant residents’ wishes, no matter how big or small. With the unwavering support of the care home’s Activity & Wellbeing Lead, Toni, and the generosity of Nottingham Forest, Paul’s dream became a reality.

Accompanied by his sons and granddaughter Izzy, Paul soaked in the electric atmosphere of the match at Nottingham Forest’s home ground. As the game unfolded, the excitement soared as Nottingham Forest secured a thrilling 2-0 victory over West Ham United. For Paul, witnessing his team’s triumph live from the stands was an experience he will forever cherish.
