Residents at Kiwi House Care Home ‘Booked’ for Fun with Derbyshire Police

The residents at Kiwi House Care Home in Alvaston, Derby, had an unforgettable day when they received a surprise visit from the Derbyshire Police PCSO team. Arriving in their police van, the officers brought an array of uniforms and equipment, transforming the lavish garden into a scene straight out of a police academy.

The residents enjoyed trying on police uniforms and handling various police gadgets, including speed guns. The interactive experience was filled with laughter and excitement, providing a unique and enjoyable way for the residents to engage with the local community.

Jill Bagley, PCSO 4521, commented on the visit, saying, “We like to show interest in our senior residents in the area. It’s important to talk to the community to raise awareness of scams and frauds. We want to maintain regular contact and provide a visible presence in the area.”

The day was not just about fun and games; it also served as an opportunity to educate the residents on important safety topics. The PCSO team shared valuable information on how to protect themselves from common scams and frauds, ensuring the senior residents are well-informed and safe.
