Residents at Kiwi House Care Home in Alvaston, Derby have shown their love for furry friends by supporting the local Cat Rescue Charity, Meow & Furever. The residents, who share a passion for helping animals, created and sold cat-themed crafts to raise funds for the organisation.
Barbara, a long-time cat lover and rescuer, proudly presented the charity with the donation on behalf of her fellow residents. “Helping cats has always been close to my heart,” said Barbara. “It’s wonderful to see everyone come together for such a great cause.”
The event featured a special guest appearance by Sammy Sox, a blind rescue cat who charmed everyone with his playful antics and affectionate nature. He spent the day happily playing and curling up on the residents’ laps, spreading joy and purrs in equal measure.
The funds raised will help Meow & Furever continue their vital work in rescuing and rehoming cats in need. “We’re incredibly grateful to Kiwi House for their kindness and creativity,” said a representative from the charity. “The residents’ efforts, as with all kind donors, will make a real difference in the lives of many cats.”
Kiwi House looks forward to hosting more community-driven initiatives that bring smiles to residents and support worthy causes. Sammy Sox, for one, gives the event two paws up!
