Residents at Moat House Care Home have proudly taken home the award for “Judges’ Favourite” in this year’s Ready Steady Cook competition – part of Adept Care Homes’ commitment to promoting joyful, active and fulfilling lifestyles through meaningful resident-led activities.

Using a selection of twelve ingredients, Moat House residents teamed up with the Activities Teams to bake a crowd-pleasing batch of lemon and white chocolate chip muffins – and they certainly didn’t disappoint!
Resident, Valerie Forrester said:
“This is so exciting, I can’t wait to try them later!”
Resident, Cynthia Shephard, added:
“We’ve enjoyed this morning so much, it’s a lovely atmosphere.”
Our guest judge, Sarah Heathcote – Adept’s Compliance Manager, was blown away by the overall taste and presentation.
“Everyone’s done a great job – these are absolutely delicious!”
The event brought a buzz of creativity and teamwork to the home, with residents excited to get involved, whilst sharing stories and laughter along the way.
The Ready Steady Cook competition has not only showcased the great talents of our residents, but has also encouraged teamwork, connection and reminiscence. We are incredibly proud of everyone at Moat House for the enthusiasm, care and dedication that went into each step of the way.
