Residents from Kiwi House Care Home in Alvaston, Derby were celebrating in style after being crowned Best Overall Choir at the Adept Christmas Choir Competition, held at St Catherine’s Church in Burbage.
The festive event brought together choirs from across Adept Care Homes for a day filled with music, laughter and Christmas joy. Kiwi House’s performance stood out for its confidence, warmth and festive spirit, earning them the top award of the day.

Their joyful singing filled the church with smiles and applause, creating a truly magical Christmas moment.
“It was the happiest day — singing together and then winning was just wonderful,” said one resident.
After the performances, residents tucked into a traditional fish and chip lunch from Burbage Fisheries, before trophies were presented by Father Andrew and the Choir Master, rounding off a wonderful festive day.

“The joy on residents’ faces was priceless. This event perfectly shows the power of music and the magic of Christmas.”
