Residents from Moat House Care Home in Burbage recently enjoyed a blooming marvellous day out as they visited Gardeners’ World, spending the day surrounded by spectacular floral displays, beautifully landscaped gardens and plenty of inspiration to bring back to their own outdoor space.
Garden enthusiasts Joyce Jackson, Dawn Gatley and June Cole were delighted to attend the popular gardening event, where they explored a wide variety of show gardens, admired colourful planting schemes and discovered creative ideas for enhancing the gardens at Moat House.
The outing was particularly meaningful for the three residents, who are passionate gardeners and play an active role in caring for the care home’s gardens throughout the year. Whether planting seasonal flowers, tending to borders or helping maintain the outdoor spaces, Joyce, Dawn and June take great pride in creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for fellow residents, visitors and staff to enjoy.
During the visit, the ladies spent time discussing their favorite flowers and plants, exchanging gardening tips and taking photographs of displays that caught their eye. From eye-catching floral arrangements to innovative landscaping features, the event provided endless inspiration and sparked plenty of ideas for future gardening projects back at the home.
Gardening continues to be one of the most popular activities at Moat House, encouraging residents to remain active, enjoy time outdoors and experience the physical and emotional benefits of nurturing plants. The home’s gardens provide a peaceful place for relaxation, socialising and wildlife, while giving residents a real sense of achievement as they watch their hard work flourish throughout the seasons.
