Thanks to generous clothing donations, residents had the chance to browse and select items they needed and loved — all for free! These new pieces made the perfect additions to their wardrobes while supporting environmentally friendly, sustainable practices. Residents were actively involved in sorting, displaying, and helping visitors, creating a sense of purpose and enjoyment throughout the event.

“I’ve found some perfect additions to my wardrobe, and it’s all sustainable too — I couldn’t ask for more!” said one resident.

The initiative builds on Adept Care Homes’ recognition at last year’s Care Home Awards, where the group was awarded Best for Sustainability Initiative, highlighting its ongoing commitment to eco-friendly practices across all homes.

Pauline Vernon, Home Manager at Bowood Court said: “Watching residents take part and choose items they love was fantastic. It’s a simple idea that brings big benefits for sustainability and wellbeing.”

The pre-loved clothes sale reflects Adept Care Homes’ commitment to sustainability, community involvement, and enriching experiences for residents.
