The care home team at Moat House in Burbage has been highly commended for their activities and entertainment.
The Excellence Award presented to the team recognises their ability to creatively tailor activities and entertainment to suit varying degrees of ability. Activities range from more active sessions for the more able to specially adapted reminiscence activities and entertainment for those residents with dementia.
Activities Co-ordinators ensure that each lounge at Moat House provides a daily social programme suited to different needs which ranges from singing, boccia, knitting, artwork through to entertainment or presentations such as a recent talk by the Hinckley Historical Society.
Managing Director, Dave Lock said “The team at Moat House are very creative with their activities and help residents to live fulfilled and enriched lives for as long as possible.”
Residents recently won Gold in the inaugural 2016 Twilight Games organised across the county by Leicester-shire & Rutland Sport, then a few weeks later took part in a sponsored walk for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Emma Philpott, Operations Director said “Adept aims to provide a good quality of life for residents well into their later years and we carefully gather information on their background and likes and dislikes”.
To complement the activities and entertainment programme, residents can make use of Moat House’s pub, cinema, 1960s lifestyle kitchen and beautiful landscaped sensory gardens with an aviary and relaxing spinney walk.
