Harrier House Care Home’s Make A Wish Program is ‘Kicking Off’ the year with One Residents Wish to See Notts Forest Live!

Paul Richardson (83) who currently resides at Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall made a wish he never thought would come true.

As part of Harrier House Care Home’s Make a Wish initiative, which encourages over 500 residents to share their wishes, no matter how big or small, Paul, who spent many years as a reporter for the Notts Evening Post and a devoted Notts Forest supporter, expressed his desire to attend one last live football match accompanied by his sons and to introduce his granddaughter Izzy to her first ever live game. With the dedicated support of Toni, the Activity & Wellbeing Lead at Harrier House, Paul’s wish is about to become a reality.

Paul’s wish journey began with a heartfelt request to attend a Notts Forest match with his loved ones. Toni, recognising the significance of this wish, reached out to the club to explore possibilities. In a heartwarming display of generosity, Notts Forest has graciously donated the use of an Executive Box with hospitality, ensuring that Paul’s experience is nothing short of extraordinary. Moreover, they have catered to his special dietary requirements, ensuring his comfort and enjoyment throughout the event.

On Saturday, March 17th, Paul will have the opportunity to watch Notts Forest face West Ham United at the match, surrounded by his sons and granddaughter Izzy. It promises to be a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and cherished memories for everyone involved.

This heartwarming initiative exemplifies the spirit of community and compassion at Harrier House Care Home. By granting Paul’s wish, the care home demonstrates its commitment to honouring the individuality and dreams of its residents, fostering moments of happiness and fulfillment.

“Paul can’t wait, he’s been counting down the days on his Notts Forrest Calendar and he has his Forrest Wolley Hat ready to go. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to fulfil Paul’s wish and create a memorable experience for him and his family. At Harrier House, we believe in celebrating life’s special moments and making dreams come true. This event is a testament to the strong sense of community and compassion that defines our care home,” said Samantha Kavanagh, Home Manager.
