Residents ‘going for gold’ in Harrier House Olympics.

Harrier House hosted their very own ‘Olympics’ to mark the start of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The aim of the event was to promote healthy activities and exercise amongst the residents.

“It is extremely important that we encourage physical activity with our residents. We regularly do this through our busy social programme that the residents love, so we knew the sports day would be a great event that everyone would love to get involved in!” Said Samantha, Home Manager.

With Olympian levels of enthusiasm, our residents competed in a wide range of fun sporting activities to claim victory. Some of the events included Bowles, quick cricket, bean bag darts and an egg and spoon race. The activities were all fully accessible meaning all residents were able to take part and have fun, keeping spirits high throughout the day.

As part of an ethos to be a superb place to live or work, Harrier House is the newest of 8 homes run by Adept Care Homes, specialising in luxury care to support its resident’s health and wellbeing.

“I really enjoyed the day! The other residents and staff all got involved it was really fun.” Said Sylvia, resident at Harrier House.

All residents won a gold medal at the awards ceremony, to congratulate them on their hard work and determination.
