Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, UK – It was lights, music, and magic for three residents of Harrier House Care Home, who saw their special wish come true with an unforgettable trip to the theatre.
Joyce Pearson (92), Margaret Barlow (96), and their good friend Ivan “Dick” King (94) spent a joyous afternoon watching the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof, as part of Harrier House’s Make a Wish programme.
The trio, all passionate about theatre and live performance, were thrilled from the moment the curtain rose. They laughed, sang along to familiar songs, and soaked up every moment of the colourful show.

“It was wonderful, I didn’t want it to end,” said Margaret afterwards. “We were so lucky to have this chance.”
The day was made even more special by the bond the three friends share, with Dick joining Joyce and Margaret to make the occasion one they’ll never forget.
“Joyce and Margaret haven’t stopped talking about it since,” said Sam Kavanagh, Home Manager. “These kinds of experiences give our residents not just enjoyment in the moment, but memories they can treasure and share with others for years to come.”
The Make a Wish programme at Harrier House is all about granting meaningful experiences for residents, whether it’s a big adventure or a simple personal treat, helping them to live life to the fullest.
