Carer for a Day: Laundry Team 🏑

The directors and group support team at Adept Care Homes are immersing themselves in a variety of frontline roles in a project called β€˜Carer for a Day.’ Working as carers, kitchen assistants, and housekeeping team, they will be able to gain insights into daily operations and enhance service quality. This hands-on approach aims to strengthen the bridge between management and front-line team, leading to operational improvements, elevated team morale, and a robust care experience for residents.

On Tuesday, Sarah Heathcote, Adept's Compliance and Operations Manager, joined the Laundry team, to gain first hand insight into their daily duties, and what a usual afternoon consists of. During Sarah's time with the team, she carried out tasks such as folding and putting away residents belongings, washing and preparing table cloths for the dining rooms and roller-pressing; a busy but eye-opening and enjoyable afternoon!

Sarah was able to report back to our Director's and Management Team about her day, and said, "Engaging in our Carer for a Day initiative provided me with a valuable opportunity to immerse myself in the laundry operations. This experience not only identified areas for improvement, such as equipment provision and ways to enhance internal communication, but also emphasised the significance of teamwork and collaboration within our team. By addressing these areas, our aim is to enhance our service delivery for all residents and strengthen bonds among our team members."

This initiative reflects the company's commitment to empathy, and innovation in care. It underscores the company's values and vision, emphasising a commitment to excellence, compassion, and always a resident-first approach strengthening its leadership in the care home sector.
