Residents at local care home, Kiwi House in Alvaston, Derby enjoyed a visit from the children at Local School, Landau Forte Academy Moorhead for an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden.
Young and old enjoyed the fun of an Easter egg hunt after primary school pupils from Landau Forte Academy Moorhead were invited to a care home for a grand search in the care home grounds.
Residents and team hid 80 hand-made, colourful eggs around the garden for the early years children to find, and they found every single one. One resident, Anne Hall (78) said “It’s so nice to see them all running around the garden with big smiles on their faces. We all watched them from our garden lounge, it made us all so happy to be part of such a lovely day.”
Anne, who grew up on a farm has such a fondness for the outdoors and took great delight in hiding the eggs around the garden and helped the team hand out the Easter Eggs to the children at the end.
Home Manager, Tracy Taylor said: “Our residents love to feel a part of the community and to be able to hold such a brilliant event with the local primary school is a real privilege. It was fantastic to see our residents engaging with the children and helping them find the hidden eggs. Lots of smiles and laughter all round.
