Eileen (84) who has spent much of her life, passionately working with and supporting charities joined Ann (78), part of our resident’s committee, for the handover of the donation to The Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust (www.thelsmt.org) and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust, which supports young people into the Arts, was thrilled to receive £1000 from Kiwi House to share equally with Rainbows Hospice (Derby).

Lewis’s mum, Gillian Sewell said “having such a generous donation means so much, it shows intergenerational support at its best and it is helping the family fulfil a promise made to Lewis that other young people would be supported into the Arts in his memory.” Her son Lewis, passed away at the age of 18 from an aggressive form of cancer while auditioning for drama school.

“It’s wonderful to be able to help and support people to be able to achieve their dreams. Our community is so important to us and we are thrilled to be able to support such a worthy cause” said Eileen.

“We have a large annual charity budget that we donate mainly to local charities. We would like to assure our residents and their families that our charity giving has no adverse effect whatsoever on the fees. Adept’s owner, Dave Lock, benefits from a private investment income and has for many years elected to donate his salary to local charities via Adept Care Homes,” said a spokesperson for Adept Care Homes
