Letter To The Adept Team – 09.09.2022

Dear Team,

Sale of The Knowles

We are proud of our achievements at our smallest home over the past 32 years. The Knowles has a reputation as one of the best care homes in the area, with a CQC Good rating and ranked #2 in Coventry and #30 in the East Midlands by reviews on carehome.co.uk. However, we believe now is the time to say goodbye and let the home pass to a new owner to continue its success. We will concentrate on the rest of our larger homes.

We have the new owners’ assurances that, as an existing quality care operator, he will work with Lisa and the team for the long-term benefit of the residents. We have found them a pleasure to work with.

I wish to clarify our way forward to avoid speculation; We have gained planning consent to extend, add extra facilities and refurbish Douglas Court to 70, and the Old Vicarage to 54 mostly ensuite bedrooms. Alterations to Bowood Court to add a pub will go ahead in a few months. We continue our search for a prime development site for our next new build large care home. We are in no rush as the site must fit our strict criteria.

We will also continue our service improvement. Having recently increased our homes support team with two Area Managers, a Compliance and Relief Manger, we are now recruiting two Training Coordinators. They will cover our north and south homes reporting to our Area Managers.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hard work and look forward to our mutually promising future.

Dave Lock
