Kiwi House Care Home in Alvaston, Derby was filled with music, memories, and magic as residents and team members came together to celebrate a remarkable milestone – the Platinum Wedding Anniversary of Margaret and Les Anderson, marking 70 years of love, laughter, and togetherness.
The day began in traditional Anderson fashion with a trip to the Brecon Beacons, a long-held family tradition that continues to hold deep meaning for the couple. Family members even flew in from the USA to join the celebrations, making the day all the more special.

After a joyful morning in the Welsh countryside, the couple returned for a family lunch and an afternoon of heartfelt celebration with their Kiwi House family. In a beautifully personalised tribute, local singer Sandy Bailey performed the couple’s favourite songs – Some Enchanted Evening and I Could Have Danced All Night – as the couple shared a touching dance, recreating a memory from their wedding day.
