Moat House is safely introducing new residents into life at the care home.
The family-run home in Burbage is welcoming new residents as the home sees a glimmer of normality following the global pandemic. Meet Peter Stowe, one of the newest residents at Moat House.
“I made the choice to live at Moat House as I was finding it increasingly difficult to manage at home alone but since moving in I have made some wonderful new friends. I spend most of my time in the beautifully landscaped gardens, watering the plants and tending to the vegetable that we grow as part of the gardening club.
I spent the last 11 Christmas’ alone and I have had many ups and downs in my life but I now find myself happy and surround by other wonderful people. If there is one thing I have learned since joining Moat House is, You’re never too old to try something new ” – said Peter, Moat House.
Moat House, part of Adept Care Homes pioneered the family visiting scheme. The garden visiting was designed alongside government guidance to see residents safely reunited with their family members once again.
“It’s lovely to see so many new faces joining us here at Moat House. Peter is a real gentleman and enjoys the company of all the other residents. It is nice to see how well he has settled in. We remain vigilant. Our robust infection controls and daily health monitoring continue to help protect our precious residents.” Nicky French, Home Manager
