Bowood Court & Mews is safely introducing new residents into life at the care home.
The family-run home in Redditch is welcoming new residents as the home sees a glimmer of normality following the global pandemic. Meet Renee (Edith) Wellman, one of the newest residents at Bowood Court & Mews.
“I recently made the choice to live at Bowood after the loss of my husband as I couldn’t stay at home alone, I was just finding it to difficult but since moving in I have made some wonderful new friends. I have joined the Knit and Natter club as I love to knit.
I have also been able to keep in contact with my family and I even celebrated my birthday with them in the garden. I served in the RAF in my younger days, traveled everywhere, I was also the landlady in my local pub, The York in Birmingham. The community has always been a big part of my life and there is such a sense of it here and you’re treated like a queen” – said Renee, Bowood Court.
Bowood Court and Mews pioneered the family visiting scheme. The garden visiting was designed alongside government guidance to see residents safely reunited with their family members once again.
“It’s lovely to see so many new faces joining us here at Bowood Court. Renee always has a cheeky smile on her face and enjoys the company of all the other residents. It nice to see how well she has settled in. We remain vigilant. Our robust infection controls and daily health monitoring continue to help protect our precious residents.” Kelly Bates, Home Manager
