Moat House Care Home and the Anchor Inn in Burbage are rallying with other local businesses to support its local church with the exciting “Save the Spire” campaign—and they kicked things off with a bang! A lively and unforgettable “Bonkers Bingo” night, hosted by Cathy Bown, Group Activities Support Coordinator from Adept Care Homes and Moat House, took place at The Anchor Inn in Burbage. With the enthusiastic support of Aden, the pub’s dedicated manager, the community came together for an evening packed with laughter, excitement, and generosity!
The bingo bash raised a fantastic £500 for St. Catherine’s Church, with Father Andrew gratefully accepting the cheque. But the fun didn’t stop there—an additional £200 was raised on behalf of Moat House, which is continuing its fundraising efforts. The grand total will be revealed at the highly anticipated Christmas Choir Competition, where more donations are set to roll in!
Aden, a huge supporter of local fundraising, expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the night such a success. Cathy Bown also shared her gratitude for the generosity of local residents, whose participation made all the difference.
The fundraising doesn’t end with bingo! The next event is a Quiz Night on Monday 09/09 at The Anchor Inn, with all proceeds going toward the church fund in the run-up to Christmas.
And if you’re looking for even more fun, don’t miss “Curryoke” at Windsor Tiffin on Wednesday, 16th October, hosted by Dean Thomas and Cathy Bown. It’s the perfect mix of curry, karaoke, and community spirit, with all funds supporting the Church Spire Fund. To book your spot, call Cathy at 07876 500 632. Don’t miss out—this is going to be one for the books!
