Moat House Care Home Celebrates 10 Years of Serving the Local Community.

Residents and team at Moat House Care Home in Burbage, enjoyed a fun-filled day on Friday 2nd September as they celebrated the home’s 10th anniversary since re-opening its doors back in 2012 following a major construction and refurbishment project.

The morning kicked off with residents taking part in indoor games and enjoying a traditional Fish and Chip Friday in their onsite pub, the Horse and Hounds which was served with celebratory drinks.

In the afternoon, residents were then treated to performances by a local singer, who performed a selection of vintage songs and a celebratory rendition of Happy Birthday led by the homes dedicated Activities and Wellbeing team. A special ‘10’ birthday cake was made with images of both past and present residents over the past 10 years.

The celebrations were joined by the Managing Director, Kenny Nelson and Communities Director, Joe Lock. “It’s such an honor to be here to celebrate with you on this wonderful occasion, thank you to everyone involved and for everything you do to make Moat House Care Home a superb place to live or work. Thank you to our amazing residents and their families and friends, to our dedicated and caring team, join me in raising your glasses and Saying Happy Birthday to everyone at Moat House,” said Kenny.

“We all had such a lovely time celebrating with our residents! It was brilliant to see everyone enjoying themselves and taking part in the activities. We wanted to celebrate our 10th birthday in style, and I think we can certainly say we’ve done that” said Hayley Langley, Home Manager

“I have been here at Moat House since 2014 (8 years) and I have always been well cared for and its so nice to be able to celebrate this occasion with all my fellow residents and our families and friends and of course the team, Happy Birthday everyone,” Said Joyce, (99) (Marjorie Cunnington) a resident at Moat House Care Home.
