Moat House open day set to ‘bowl’ community over

It’s National Care Home Open Day this week and Moat House care home in Burbage, Leicestershire, is looking forward to opening its doors to the local community.

Everyone is invited to pop in and enjoy a day of activities and entertainment at the home in New Road, which takes place from 11-4pm on Friday, June 17th.

There will be bowling, arts and crafts and a chance to have a drink with residents at Moat House’s Horse and Hound pub, while the home’s Flicks cinema will be showing The King and I in the afternoon. Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.

Home manager Nicky Hall said: “National Care Home Open Day is a fantastic chance for the local community to meet some really unique, intelligent and charming characters and Moat House has no shortage of these.

“We are looking forward to a fun, entertaining day with the local community, whilst our care team and staff members will be on hand to provide an insight into what it’s like to live and work at Moat House. We will also be giving advice to those who are helping a loved one make the transition and talking through our pioneering dementia practices.”
