A former Community Care Worker, Marie Hopkins, aged 76, is embarking on a new career as the Shop Manager at the care home where she lives.
Taking on the role of Shop Manager at Kiwi House Care Home in the on-site ‘Corner Shop’ which stocks everything from toiletries to snacks, Marie commented: “Being responsible for the Kiwi House shop has given me a new lease of life. I spend time sorting the stock and love the chance it gives me to meet and chat with people coming in to pick up their bits and pieces!”
“We are always looking for ways to help our residents retain their independence and to feel part of things here at Kiwi House. Marie is so happy to be working in the shop and her presence has made a real difference to our residents and visitors using it!” added Dave Godrich, Kiwi House Care Home Manager.
