Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall proudly participated in the local community’s annual Remembrance Parade on Remembrance Sunday morning, paying tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed so much for our country.
David Jennings (86), a resident of Harrier House and a passionate supporter of remembrance traditions, represented the home by joining the solemn march through the town. As the community gathered for the 1 Minute’s Silence, David stepped forward to lay a beautiful homemade poppy wreath at the monument—a heartfelt creation made by the residents of Harrier House.
“It was a moving moment for all of us,” said Samantha Kavanagh, Harrier House Home Manager. “We are honoured to have been part of this touching service, coming together with our neighbours to remember and respect those who gave their all.”
The homemade wreath symbolised the unity and gratitude of the Harrier House community, reflecting the care and creativity of its residents.
Harrier House remains committed to supporting local events and fostering connections that strengthen community ties. This year’s Remembrance Day service was a poignant reminder of the importance of coming together to reflect on history and honour those who paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.
