Residents and team members at Moat House Care Home in Burbage came together in a heartfelt tribute to honour those who have served, joining forces with the Royal British Legion for this year’s Remembrance Service.

There was a special kind of warmth in the room when residents from Moat House Care Home visited Hinckley’s Singing Café this week — an atmosphere filled with soft laughter, familiar melodies and the gentle sound of tambourines. For the residents, these visits have become cherished moments that bring comfort, connection and a sense of togetherness.
As soon as the group from Moat House arrived at The Pathways Centre, they were welcomed by friendly faces and the uplifting energy the café is known for. Many residents eagerly took their seats, recognising the space instantly. For some, the Singing Café has become a highlight of their month — a place where they can step away from routine, enjoy music they love, and feel part of a wider community.

The residents of Moat House Care Home in Burbage were all smiles as they embarked on an adventure of a lifetime. The dedicated Activities and Wellbeing team has been fundraising all year round to be able to take as many residents as possible on a heartwarming day trip to the picturesque coastal town of Skegness, allowing the residents to relive some of their cherished memories all while, creating new ones with their loved ones.

Upon arriving in Skegness, the residents were greeted by the soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore and the invigorating sea breeze. They reveled in a day of sunshine, scenic walks along the beach, and the nostalgic scent of traditional fish and chips wafting through the air.
Residents were treated to a comfortable coach journey, a morning at the arcade, and enjoying the rides. Everyone enjoyed a tray of freshly battered ‘fish’n’chips’ while watching the seagulls fly over the waves.
