Bowood Court & Mews Crowned Bake Off Challenge Winners

Residents at family-run, Bowood Court & Mews Care Home, are celebrating after being crowned winners of a special Bake Off Challenge!

All 7 of the midlands-based Adept Care Homes, which offer award-winning affordable luxury, took part in a baking challenge, with the winners chosen by a public vote using social media last night to coincide with the TV show finale.

Residents created their ‘showstopper’ and entries included an amazing 3D replica care home, a treasure chest complete with golden coins, and a spooky Halloween themed ghost. But it was the Remembrance cake, complete with red iced poppies, which was crowned winner for Bowood Court & Mews.

Bowood Court & Mews resident, Albert Ashford said: “We wanted our cake to honour those who have fallen in our world wars and used it as another way to remember and respect them. We loved taking part and are so pleased to have been voted as winners! Now we can enjoy eating the cake to celebrate!”

Home Manager, Breda Goulding, said: “Obviously we are delighted to win the competition, especially with such amazing entries from across the group. But I have to say, more rewarding is seeing our team and our residents really working together to design their cake, make it and of course, taste it. It is activities such as these which help us make Adept’s vision ‘to be a superb place to live or work’, a reality.”
