Exceptional environment for care will make a difference, says new Chetwynd House Manager

Chilwell’s new family-run care home, which offers residents affordable luxury living, is open for viewings ready to open later this month.

Newly appointed Home Manager, Claire Gordon-Rundle, who has worked in the care industry for over twenty years, explains how and why Chetwynd House will make a difference to it’s residents, “This is an exciting time in the residential and dementia care home sector. Older people have all the same benefits of experienced carers looking after them, but with superior quality homes like Chetwynd House, I believe care can be more effectively delivered.

“With leading technology incorporated in the design of the home, care assistants are better supported to allow them to spend even more quality time with residents. Our team will use handheld devices, a bit like a mobile phone, to log all care interactions with residents. This also means care plans are easily accessible to those with permission to view it, including relatives.

“Additionally, gone are the days of intrusive and unsettling alarms. At Chetwynd House, state of the art night time acoustic monitoring and silent alarm call systems mean that care workers are alerted to a resident in need, without disrupting the whole home or floor.

“The facilities here are similar to that of a five-star hotel! Accommodation is arranged into five small suites where up to 15 residents enjoy more intimate care from the same familiar faces. Each suite has its own lounge and ‘lifestyle kitchen’. There is also a café, cinema, pub and shop.

“And then there’s the luxury element. Our firm belief is that residents should enjoy some luxury living so all our spacious en-suite resident rooms have lavish décor and top specification fixtures and fittings. It is also possible to upgrade to a larger room or even one with a personal garden.

“Personally I’m very excited about the future we’re creating for people living and working here at Chetwynd House. Our vision is to be a superb place to live or work and the exceptional environment here definitely achieves that.”
