Andy (40), a dedicated member of the Douglas Court Care Home team, celebrated his 40th
birthday in truly unforgettable fashion! Andy took on the immense challenge of climbing Ben
Nevis, the UK’s tallest mountain, to raise money for the Residents’ Social Fund, aimed at
enhancing the well-being of residents through special events and activities.
After an epic 10-hour drive to Scotland, followed by an exhausting 7-hour climb up the
mountain and a 2-hour descent, Andy completed his mission, raising an incredible £250 for
the residents of Douglas Court. The funds which are matched by Adept Care Homes
Executive Chairman will directly contribute to the home’s ongoing commitment to enriching
residents’ lives with fun-filled social programs, meaningful outings, and memorable activities.
Reflecting on the monumental climb, Andy said:
“What a way to celebrate my 40th! It was really tough, but I’m so proud to have done it and to
be able to raise money for the residents. Their happiness and wellbeing are incredibly
important to me and the entire team, and I’m happy to go the extra mile—or mountain—for
them!”
Andy’s unwavering dedication to the residents extends far beyond his regular maintenance
duties—his Ben Nevis climb is a testament to his commitment to ensuring they lead fulfilling
