Residents at Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell Nottingham are embracing dreams and creating unforgettable moments through their Make a Wish initiative. Last week, the home’s Fairy Godparents waved their wands to grant Rebekah’s heartfelt wish to visit Woodside Wildlife Park for a once-in-a-lifetime sloth experience.

Rebekah, a long-time animal lover, had an enchanting day at the park. She delighted in getting up close with the gentle sloths, learning about their unique habits, and even had the chance to feed the lively Marmosets. “It was everything I dreamed of and more,” Rebekah shared. “Spending time with the animals was truly magical.”
The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and awe as Rebekah’s wish came true. She returned to Chetwynd House beaming with happiness, holding precious memories to cherish forever.
“Moments like this remind us why we do what we do,” said Carla Kirkham, Home Manager at Chetwynd House. “Granting Rebekah’s wish brought so much joy—not only to her but to all of us who had the honour of making it happen.”
Chetwynd House Care Home’s Make a Wish program is dedicated to creating opportunities for residents to experience moments of magic, fun, and connection. The team looks forward to granting more wishes and continuing to make dreams come true.
For Rebekah, it was a day that will always hold a special place in her heart—and proof that a sprinkle of magic and a caring community can make anything possible.
