Chetwynd House Care Home residents in Chilwell were delighted to welcome children from Alderman Pounder Infant and Nursery School for a heartwarming intergenerational visit.
The children, eager to learn about the history of Beeston and Nottingham, spent time chatting with residents, asking questions about what life was like in years gone by.

The visit was filled with smiles, stories, and shared memories, as residents recounted tales of their childhoods, old Beeston landmarks, and how the local community has changed over the decades. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to gain real-life insights into history while bringing joy and companionship to the residents.
“We love having young visitors at Chetwynd House,” said Danielle Clarke, Activity Lead “Seeing the children engage with our residents, listening to their stories, and learning from their experiences was truly special. These connections are invaluable for both generations.”
The visit was such a success that both the school and Chetwynd House are eager to plan more interactions in the future, strengthening the bond between the young and old in the local community.
