The Old Vicarage Care Home in Clay Cross was filled with laughter, music and joy as residents and local families came together for the exciting launch of the home’s brand-new Parents & Tots group.
The morning was a wonderful celebration of intergenerational connection, with babies, toddlers and residents sharing smiles, songs, playtime and touching moments that brought pure delight to everyone involved. The room buzzed with warmth as friendships formed naturally across generations.

Intergenerational activities like these are especially powerful for residents living with dementia. The presence of children can help spark memories, lift mood and create meaningful moments of connection. For many residents, interacting with little ones brings a renewed sense of purpose, comfort and joy.
“This morning was truly magical,” said Naomi Jones, Hospitality Manager for The Old Vicarage. “Seeing our residents light up as they sang along, played and interacted with the children was incredibly moving. These sessions are about building lasting bonds and sharing positive experiences that benefit both young and old.”
The Parents & Tots group will now run regularly at The Old Vicarage, with the home looking forward to welcoming more families and creating many more heart-warming moments for all generations.
