The Old Vicarage Care Home Hosts Pre-Loved Clothes Sale to Support Sustainability and Residents

Thanks to generous clothing donations, residents had the chance to browse and select items they needed and loved — all for free! These new pieces made the perfect additions to their wardrobes while supporting environmentally friendly, sustainable practices. Residents were actively involved in sorting, displaying, and helping visitors, creating a sense of purpose and enjoyment throughout the event.

“Seeing these clothes get a second life is lovely, and it’s so nice that we can all join in and enjoy it together” said one resident. The initiative builds on Adept Care Homes’ recognition at last year’s Care Home Awards, where the group was awarded Best for Sustainability Initiative, highlighting its ongoing commitment to eco-friendly practices across all homes.

Maria Stroe, Home Manager at The Old Vicarage said: “It was a joy to see residents so engaged, choosing items they loved and chatting together. Moments like this create happiness while supporting more sustainable living.”

The pre-loved clothes sale reflects Adept Care Homes’ commitment to sustainability, community involvement, and enriching experiences for residents.
