Using a selection of twelve ingredients, Harrier House’s residents worked alongside the Activities Team to bake a delicious batch of blueberry, lemon and white chocolate chip muffins with poppy seeds. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and the use of ingredients impressed the judges with their creativity and attention to detail.

One resident, Audrey Hardy, shared:

“It’s been a great morning, and I can’t wait to try them later!”

The judging panel, that included Michelle Chambers, Adept Care Homes’ Admissions Manager, praised this bake for its flavour combination.

“Absolutely amazing! I love that I can taste all the flavours – especially the lemon. 10/10 for everyone!”

The event brought a buzz of creativity and teamwork to the home, with residents excited to get involved, whilst sharing stories and laughter along the way.

Another resident added:

“They’re so nice, I’ve had six already … I hope I’ve saved enough for you, Joyce!”

The Ready Steady Cook competition has not only showcased the great talents of our residents, but has also encouraged teamwork, connection and reminiscence. We are incredibly proud of everyone at Harrier House for the enthusiasm, care and dedication that went into each step of the way.
