Chetwynd House Care Home Celebrated for Championing Community Inclusion

Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell has been honoured with the “Best for Community Inclusion” award at the Adept Awards in Excellence, held at the Hilton Hotel in Leicester on 7th May. The award recognises the home’s outstanding commitment to building strong, lasting connections with the local Chilwell community.

Voted for by the public, the award reflects Chetwynd House’s belief that care homes should be vibrant hubs of community life. From intergenerational partnerships with local schools and nurseries to charity events, open-house days, and creative collaborations, Chetwynd House has made it a mission to welcome the wider community into the lives of its residents.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition,” said the Home Manager. “Our residents thrive when they’re part of something bigger, and this award is shared with every neighbour, volunteer, and local partner who helps keep our home connected, joyful, and alive.”

Chetwynd House regularly hosts events that bring together residents, families, and local residents—including craft mornings, school performances, and fundraising drives. These initiatives are aimed at breaking down generational barriers and ensuring residents remain active, engaged members of the community.

The glittering awards gala celebrated care excellence across multiple categories, with Chetwynd House shining as a leader in inclusive, community-driven care.
