Former Man City Player and Care Home Resident Bill Leivers Set for VIP Matchday Experience

A dream day awaits Bill Leivers (93), a resident at The Old Vicarage Care Home, as he returns to the club where he once played professionally—Manchester City FC.

On Saturday, 15th February, Bill will be treated to an unforgettable VIP experience at the Etihad Stadium, where he will enjoy the match from an executive box, indulge in a three-course meal, and even have the chance to meet the players.

Bill, who once proudly wore the Manchester City shirt, has remained a lifelong football fan, and this special day will be a trip down memory lane. The experience has been arranged to honour his footballing past and lifelong dedication to the sport.

This incredible experience is part of The Old Vicarage Care Home’s ‘Make A Wish’ program, which is dedicated to fulfilling residents’ lifelong dreams and personal aspirations. The initiative ensures that residents continue to enjoy meaningful and memorable experiences, whether it’s revisiting a cherished place, meeting a hero, or reliving a special moment from their past. Bill’s VIP matchday is just one example of how the home goes above and beyond to celebrate the lives and stories of its residents, making their wishes come true in the most unforgettable ways.

“We are absolutely thrilled for Bill to have this opportunity,” said Jordele Folkes, Home Manager. “Football has been such a huge part of his life, and to be able to return to Manchester City in such a special way is truly heartwarming. The entire home is excited for him, and we can’t wait to hear all about it!”

Everyone at The Old Vicarage Care Home will be cheering Bill on as he relives his footballing days and makes even more cherished memories with his beloved club.
