Chetwynd House Care Home Resident Visits Iconic TV Landmark for an Unforgettable Experience
There were smiles all around at Chetwynd House Care Home, in Chilwell, as resident Jean had her long-held wish come true — a very special trip to the world-famous Coronation Street set!
A lifelong fan of the beloved British soap, Jean is rarely without her daily dose of “drama on the cobbles.” So when she shared that her biggest wish was to visit the iconic filming location, the Chetwynd House team made it happen through their heartwarming Make A Wish program — an initiative dedicated to turning residents’ dreams into reality.
Jean enjoyed a guided tour of the set, soaking in every detail of the legendary street she knows so well from her television screen. From The Rovers Return to Roy’s Rolls, she explored each corner with pure delight, reminiscing about favourite storylines and beloved characters.
“It was everything I hoped for — and even more!” Jean said, beaming with joy. “I’ve watched Coronation Street for years, and being here in person was just incredible!”
The Make A Wish program at Chetwynd House Care Home aims to celebrate residents’ passions and bring joy through meaningful, personal experiences.
“We were thrilled to make Jean’s dream come true,” said Danielle Clarke, Activities Lead at Chetwynd House Care Home. “Her excitement was contagious, and seeing her face light up as she walked down Coronation Street was truly special for us all.”
Jean’s visit was more than a day out — it was a celebration of cherished memories, shared laughter, and the magic of making dreams come true at any age.
