29th March, 2018: Residents at family-run The Knowles Care Home, which provides affordable luxury living and the highest standards of care, are ‘eggstra’ ‘eggcited’ about Easter this year, thanks to a batch of living eggs now residing at the care home.
Working with the Living Egg programme which provides ‘ready to hatch’ chick eggs, The Knowles welcomed their newest visitors this week and both the care team and residents are hoping all the chicks to break free in time for Easter celebrations this weekend.
Elletra Jenkins, The Knowles resident said: “It’s been lovely to see the little chicks hatching. They are very fluffy, and I’ve loved having a hold!”
The Knowles Care Home Manager, Andree Yates explained more: “We wanted to give our residents a different ‘eggperience’ this Easter and came across the Living Eggs scheme which is great for a number of reasons. As well as bringing our team and residents together, we’ve also been reminiscing with residents about when everyone had chickens in their gardens. This has been a lovely activity and we’re all looking forward to keeping the chicks and hopefully enjoying their lovely eggs!”
