Love Never Gets Old – Residents of The Old Vicarage Relive Their Wedding Day in Style!

The team at The Old Vicarage Care Home in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, were delighted to make a heartfelt wish come true for residents Audrey and Norman, who longed to revisit the cherished moments of their wedding day.

This unforgettable experience was made possible through The Old Vicarage’s ‘Make a Wish’ program, which is dedicated to fulfilling residents’ dreams. Whether it’s experiencing something for the first time, revisiting a past passion, or doing something they never thought possible again, the program ensures that residents can create new memories and relive cherished ones. The home strives to grant as many wishes as possible throughout the year, bringing joy, excitement, and meaning to those in their care.

Their journey began at Teversal Church, where they exchanged vows, allowing them to recreate photos from their special day. Stepping back into the church, Norman reflected, “Coming back here has brought back so many memories.” Audrey, overwhelmed with emotion, shared, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to see the church again—I never thought I would.”

The celebration continued at The Carnarvon Arms in Teversal, where the couple enjoyed a sit-down meal, just as they had during their wedding reception years ago.

As the day drew to a close, Audrey turned to Norman and said, “What a wonderful day—one to remember.”
