A Hinckley couple have almost doubled their fundraising target thanks to support from Moat House Care Home.
Scott and Glenda Bailye decided to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research, a subject close to their hearts since Glenda’s father was diagnosed with the illness.
Their year-long fundraising efforts saw the duo run the London Marathon together, amongst many other fundraising initiatives, and by raising just under £10,000, they have completely surpassed even their own expectations.
“We can’t really believe we’ve raised so much. When we originally set out to raise £5k that felt like such a lot to achieve. We’ve been overwhelmed by and are so grateful for the support we’ve received, from people coming along to events such as our pub quiz and Bond themed charity night, to individual sponsorship for the London Marathon and the very generous £1,000 donation from Moat House Care Home in Burbage,” explained Scott Bailye (46).
Mr and Mrs Bailye haven’t finished their fundraising just yet, “We’re planning another marathon next year, it’s an enormous commitment but such a worthy cause which thankfully people are very keen to support,” added Scott.
“We are delighted to support Scott and Glenda who have done so well in their fundraising. Alzheimer’s is an illness we deal with daily at Moat House, so we know first-hand the importance of the research Scott and Glenda want to help,” added Dave Lock, Adept Care Homes, Managing Director.
