‘Chetwynd House’ has been revealed as the name of our £8 million luxury new care home being developed in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
“Chetwynd House was chosen from our naming competition which we ran both with members of the public and with our own employees, for its historical military links with the area,” said Claire Gordon, Chetwynd House Care Home Manager. “As many local Chilwell residents are aware, Chetwynd Barracks is set to close so that the land can be used to develop new housing.
“We wanted to find a way to keep this part of Chilwell’s rich heritage alive and, with our home being just one mile away from the old barracks which was a former munitions factory for World War I, this seems a fitting tribute.”
“We are very pleased to announce the new name which is steeped in local history. We had an overwhelming response from the public and also from our team at our existing homes in our search for a name competition,” added Dave Lock, Adept Care Homes Managing Director.
“Chetwynd House was submitted by a care assistant at our Douglas Court care home as she has connections to the barracks and she has kindly donated the prize money to the residents social fund.
“Hopefully local people will approve and we look forward to providing a care home the community, whether they live or work here or not, can be proud of.”
Adept Care Homes, owners of the state of the art 70-bed home, recently announced that more than 80 jobs will be created at the new care home, which is being built by Wynbrook Care Homes and is due for completion in November 2017.
