Residents Rock it Out for Derbyshire Rocks

Residents at Douglas Court & Kiwi House have joined a growing online community group which decorates small rocks and hides them for people to find.

“This is such a good idea. It reminds me a bit of chain letters I used to write when I was younger. I’ve painted lots of rocks with all sorts of patterns and colours. We’ve been out to hide our rocks but by far, the best bit is seeing who has found the rocks. Sometimes the rocks are rehidden and sometimes kept.” Lesley Roberts, Douglas Court resident

DerbyshireRocks is a rapidly growing Facebook group which was originally set up to entertain youngsters in their school holidays.

“It’s great to see our residents joining in the fun of DerbyshireRocks. It’s a bit of fun for all ages and for our residents it’s helped them to not only get creative, get out and about, but helped them be part of something happening in the wider community. We keep looking out for our rocks to be found on Facebook which definitely creates a feel-good atmosphere!” Lee Daly, Douglas Court Manager.
