Residents at The Old Vicarage Care Home in Clay Cross rolled up their sleeves and stepped out into the community to take part in a local litter pick aimed at keeping their town clean and green.
The enthusiastic residents joined the community event on Saturday 21st March 2026, at Clay Cross Social Centre before heading out to help tidy up the local area.

Organised by Clay Cross Healthy Futures, the litter pick from 10am until 12pm, gives volunteers the chance to enjoy some fresh air while making a positive difference to their neighbourhood. All the equipment was provided, and participants were able to enjoy light refreshments afterwards.
Residents at The Old Vicarage were very excited to be involved, seeing the event as a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community and take pride in their local surroundings.
Maria Stroe, Home Manager at The Old Vicarage said:
“Our residents love being involved in the local community, and this is a fantastic way for them to get outside, meet people and help care for the place they call home.”
The event was a fun and rewarding morning, bringing people of all ages together to help keep Clay Cross looking its best.
Community members are warmly invited to come along to the next event, lend a hand, and enjoy a sociable morning helping the environment.
With litter pickers at the ready and community spirit in full swing, residents at The Old Vicarage are proud to be playing their part in making Clay Cross a cleaner and greener place for everyone.
