Chetwynd House Care Home proudly welcomed cyclists, supporters and members of the local community as it hosted the East Midlands leg of the Great British Care Cycle Relay, celebrating the dedication, compassion and achievements of the social care sector.

The event saw an incredible team of cyclists, including Adept Care Homes Managing Director, Kenny Nelson complete an impressive 120km route across the East Midlands, raising awareness of the invaluable work carried out by care professionals every day. The relay forms part of a nationwide initiative led by Championing Social Care, bringing together care providers and communities to celebrate the positive impact of social care across the UK.

As one of the relay’s host venues, Chetwynd House was transformed into a vibrant celebration, with residents, relatives, team and supporters gathering to cheer on the riders as they arrived. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, community spirit and appreciation for the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

The home worked alongside a number of local partners to ensure the day was a memorable success. Creed Foodservice generously kept cyclists refreshed with drinks and treats throughout their journey, while Boujiballoons created eye-catching decorations that added to the celebratory atmosphere. Chetwynd House’s talented Kitchen Team prepared a delicious selection of refreshments for visitors, and the home’s Activities Team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event ran seamlessly.
