Residents and team members at Bowood Court Care Home in Redditch recently came together to celebrate a truly special milestone as residents Colin (84) and Christine (83) Caswell marked their 65th wedding anniversary.

The happy couple celebrated with family, friends and fellow residents in Bowood Court’s pub, where they enjoyed a beautiful cake specially made by their family for the occasion.

Well known within the local community, Colin spent years as a respected driving instructor, helping countless people in the area pass their tests. He also proudly served within the local fire brigade, making a lasting impact on the community throughout his life.

The celebration became even more meaningful when the couple were presented with an official congratulatory card from the King and Queen by Bowood Court Administrator, Judy Walker — a moment that was particularly special for Judy, as Colin had taught her to drive many years ago.

When asked the secret to a long and happy marriage, Colin smiled and said:

“Going fishing at the weekend!”

Pauline Vernon, Home Manager for Bowood Court Care Home said:

“It was such a lovely celebration and a privilege to share this milestone with Colin and Christine. They are a wonderful couple and very well loved by everyone here.” The day was filled with laughter, memories and heartfelt moments as everyone celebrated an incredible 65 years together.
