Residents at Chetwynd House Care Home have proudly taken home the award for “Best for Presentation” in this year’s Ready Steady Cook competition – part of Adept Care Homes’ commitment to promoting joyful, active and fulfilling lifestyles through meaningful resident-led activities.

Using a selection of twelve ingredients, Chetwynd House’s residents worked alongside the Activities Team to bake a delicious lemon, blueberry and poppy seed sponge cake with white chocolate ganache. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and the presentation impressed the judges with their creativity and attention to detail.
One resident, Tina Pickering, shared:
“It’s lovely to bake together. I can’t wait to try it!”
The judging panel, that included Karen Middleton, Adept Care Homes’ Dementia Manager, praised this bake for its flavour combination and fabulous presentation.
“This is lovely! A great effort from everyone”
The event brought a buzz of creativity and teamwork to the home, with residents excited to get involved, whilst sharing stories and laughter along the way.
The Ready Steady Cook competition has not only showcased the great talents of our residents, but has also encouraged teamwork, connection and reminiscence. We are incredibly proud of everyone at Chetwynd House for the enthusiasm, care and dedication that went into each step of the way.
