Thanks to generous clothing donations, residents had the chance to browse and select items they needed and loved — all for free! These new pieces made the perfect additions to their wardrobes while supporting environmentally friendly, sustainable practices. Residents were actively involved in sorting, displaying, and helping visitors, creating a sense of purpose and enjoyment throughout the event.

“Events like this make fashion fun again and remind us how a little recycling can bring so much joy” said Paul Davies (61), Sustainability Ambassador.

The initiative builds on Adept Care Homes’ recognition at last year’s Care Home Awards, where the group was awarded Best for Sustainability Initiative, highlighting its ongoing commitment to eco-friendly practices across all homes.

Sian Rankin, Home Manager at Douglas Court said: “It was lovely to watch residents browsing through the donations and finding pieces they truly loved. Days like this perfectly combine sustainability, community spirit, and meaningful involvement.”

The pre-loved clothes sale reflects Adept Care Homes’ commitment to sustainability, community involvement, and enriching experiences for residents.
