Adept Care Homes Launches ‘Stop The Clock’ Initiative to Celebrate Everyday Joy

Midlands, UK – July 2025 – Adept Care Homes has launched a heartfelt new initiative across all its care homes called ‘Stop The Clock’, designed to carve out moments of genuine connection and joy for residents and team members alike.

Twice a day, at 11:30am and 3:30pm, the usual routine takes a backseat as the homes pause the hustle for 10 minutes of pure, person-centred joy. Whether it’s a spontaneous sing-along, a quiet chat over tea, a game of dominoes, or a stroll in the garden, the focus is simple: connection.

The slogan says it all: “Leave the lists, find the laughter.”

“At Adept, we know that the small moments often make the biggest impact,” said Dave Lock, Managing Director. “Stop The Clock is about creating space for those everyday interactions that lift spirits, spark memories, and strengthen bonds — not just for residents, but for our team members too.”

The initiative is already proving popular, with homes reporting boosted moods, increased engagement, and more smiles all around. It builds on Adept’s ongoing commitment to person-centred care, nurturing a culture where relationships, wellbeing, and emotional connection are prioritised alongside high-quality support.

“Our days are busy, but joy doesn’t have to be scheduled — sometimes, we just need to make room for it,” added Lock. “Stop The Clock reminds us to be present, laugh together, and cherish the people around us.”

With a strong track record of innovation and award-winning care, including recent honours from the Care Home Awards and Caring UK, Adept continues to lead the way in creating homes where life is celebrated.

Because at Adept, connection isn’t just part of the job — it’s the best part of the day.
